Swan song" is a metaphorical phrase for a final gesture, effort, or performance given just before death or retirement. The phrase refers to an ancient belief that the Mute Swan (Cygnus olor) is completely silent during its lifetime until the moment just before death, when it sings one beautiful song. The belief, now known to be incorrect, had become proverbial in Ancient Greece by the 3rd century BC, and was reiterated many times in later Western poetry and art.

Well, now we all know!

On the way there

Smidty, Dusty & Pad

Approaching Bonnievale

Yummy snacks before the meat orgy began  Roll Eyes

We decided to walk the first little bit of the ox wagon route...

This is where you have to cross the river for the start

This shows how steep the one section really is...

It was hot so we decided to cool off in the river....

The buddha meditating...

Some lovely horses and a foal at the site

Before the real fun began... (We had Kentucky!)  Smile Smile Smile

Sunday morning I took a little ride to the dam - what a lekker camping spot!...

..and then carried on the waterfall and rock pools... this is the 1st one you come across

..the waterfall and main pool - lovely stuff - there's a little lapa and rusplek right next to it...

..this little pool is perfect for 4...

Rode a bit further...

...loking back towards the farm...

...and the dam.

Thanks once again everyone - another very special weekend  A1 A1 A1
