Kokerboom huis. In die ou tyd het baie van die huise so gelyk. Planke gesny uit dooie kokerbome. Lekker koel in die Riemvasmaak somer.

Poppie Cloete. Toe ek baie klein was het sy my grootgemaak. As sy vloere gepolish het, het ek op haar rug geklim en perd gery. Wonderlike mens.

I check all the windpumps i see but I have never seen one of those - Poldaw.  Usually the blades are joined together by a wheel but this one only has spokes with the blades attached.  Know anything about Poldaw?

First time I saw one. That's the reason for the picture. Apparently they are much cheaper and need less wind. The mechanism is very simple. No gearbox, only a shaft running through two bearings and a crank on the one side. That lifts the rod going into the cylinder. Unfortunately this picture is from the wrong side, but will give you a better idea.
